A new Gallopalooza horse, commissioned
and dubbed "Horsebiz" by UofL's Equine
Industry Program, has taken up residence
between 3rd Street and the College of
Business. Louisville artist Pam Stockard
decorated the life-sized, gray f berglass statue
with the scene of a Kentucky horse farm.
Horsebiz joins "Rising Star," a
Gallopalooza horse that sits outside the
Student Activities Center. Rising Star was
designed by Jennie A. Gelles and signed by
former Cardinal, Olympian and WNBA
player Angel McCoughtry. Gallopalooza, a
project created to benef t charity and boost
civic pride, has led to the placement of
hundreds of colorful Thoroughbred horse
statues around the community since 2004.
