48 UOFLMAGAZINE.COM A penny a mile. That's how much the Rev. Tim Moseley, 83GK, sought as he headed cross-country on his trusty 32-year-old Schwinn bicycle, raising money to feed people at Louisville's Wayside Christian Mission, which he runs with wife Nina, 94B, 98L. The avid bicyclist initially asked for pledges for the first 1,000 miles. But then he kept on pedaling farther in his two-month solo trek from St. Augus- tine, Florida, to San Diego, California, safely reaching the Pacific Coast Nov. 4 after logging 2,944 miles. Donations inspired by his Face- book chronicles had risen to $10,000 by a month later and continued to help fund the 2,000 meals the mis- sion serves daily. "People were really caring. I didn't run into any meanness," said Moseley, the Kent School of Social Work's 2010 Alumni Fellow. spotlight TIM MOSELE Y alumnus
