The book blends elements of autobiography, memoir and philosophical refl ection on issues surrounding the search for meaning in life. Jamesetta Ferguson, 92GE, published "Urban Ministry: Revitalizing a Church and Impacting a Community." Michael K. Grimes, 02GK, recently completed a book entitled "The Pleasureville Connection 1784 – 2015." The book explores the decline of small town America as well as documents the history of Henry County. Colonel Ronald B. Hall, 67A, published his fi rst book "The Russian," which outlines the President of Russia's reckless reach for power, against the CIA's best operative whose mission is to prevent World War III. Becky L. Kelley, 06GA, authored "Wineing Your Way Across Kentucky: Recipes, History and Scenery." Kelley and a friend visited every winery in the state of Kentucky to gain inspiration as well as photographs for the book. Carmen L. Montañez, 87GA, released "El baúl de las tres llaves" (Spanish Edition), a refl ection about the reconciliation of the Caribbean races. She also published a children's book, "The Biligüe Bird Goes Home." Carol C. Polsgrove, 69GA, 73GA, has written her fourth book, "When We Were Young in Africa: 1948 – 1960." Polsgrove is professor emerita at Indiana University and lives in Asheville, North Carolina. Pamela Raymer, 95GE, wrote two books, "Sam And Alex Stories: Enella's Mission, Girls Strong Up!" and "Sam And Alex Stories: Creature Invasion, Girls Strong Up!" to help pre-teen girls develop leadership skills. Frank S. Scalise "Frank Zafi ro," 12GA, released "The Backlist," an action/ dark comedy with a bit of crime fi ction. "Friend of the Departed," his third in the Stefan Kopriva mystery series, was also released last fall. Denis J. Stemmle, 68S, authored the novel, "Pope Nobody the Great," which centers around two retired activists who infl uenced the selection of a new pope. C. Robert Ullrich, III, 70S, 70GS, 71GS, and Victoria A. Ullrich, 69A, 84GA, announced the publication of their book "Germans in Louisville," the fi rst book written about the German immigrant experience in Louisville since 1873. Justin Velez-Hagan, 03B, recently released his book "The Common Sense Behind Basic Economics." The novel was featured on the WAVE 3 website and WDRB's website, as well as in the Boston Globe.
