Homegrown goodness
The chance to purchase fresh, healthy food accompanied by music, exercise and good company
is a weekly bonus for staff, students and neighbors at both Belknap and Health Sciences Center
campuses. Both have Thursday markets that feature many of the same vendors offering fresh local
fruits and vegetables, eggs, meats, cheeses, honey, breads, pastries, jams and jellies, kettle corn,
homemade soaps and more. The Belknap market is open from 3:30 – 6 p.m. every Thursday through
October 13 at the corner of 3rd and Brandeis, next to The Ville Grille. The Gray Street market is
located in front of the UofL School of Public Health and Information Sciences in the 400 block of
E. Gray St. and is open Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. through October 27. Customers can take
advantage of debit card tokens, and EBT is accepted.
