A L U M N I L I F E Bookshelf Blaine Hudson 74E, 75GE, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, is a co-author of Two Centuries of Black Louisville: A Photographic History. Hudson is an expert on fugitive slaves and the Underground Railroad. He is author of the Encyclopedia of the Underground Railroad and Fugitive Slaves and the Underground Railroad in the Kentucky Borderland. John Gamel, MD, a retired School of Medicine professor, is the author of The Man Who Lived in an Eggcup. Each chapter shows the reader the human side of medicine — the many ways people don't fi t on a medical chart and how blurry the lines can get when someone's life is on the line.
