UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES Through years of digging through old pho- tos, administrators and alumni at the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law breathed new life into a historic 1967 visit to the school by Martin Luther King, Jr. "We found photos that we didn't even know existed," said Robin Harris, who chairs the school's diversity committee and is a professor of legal bibliography. A dozen photos from King's visit were unveiled February 28 as part of a Gradu- ates of Color reunion and celebration of Black History Month. Five of the photos will be permanently displayed in the Allen Court Room. King came to UofL after being invited by then-student-now-alumnus Steve Porter. Law school Interim Dean Susan Duncan said the photos gave her chills. "It's gratifying to know that King spoke here," said Duncan. "Because — even 50 years ago — this university was a trailblazer in the areas of diversity and inclusiveness."
