E D U Legacy UofL has won a $25,000 grant from the National Breast Cancer Foundation to provide free mam- mograms via the James Graham Brown Cancer Center's Mobile Mam- mography Unit. For more than 20 years, the mobile unit has brought screen- ing services to women at their business, churches, schools and communities. "UofL and our part- ners KentuckyOne Health and the Kentucky Cancer Program are committed to making it possible for all women to benef t from the earliest possible breast cancer screening and detection," said Donald Miller, cancer center director. Grant to extend services of mobile mammography unit Legacy for learning Wally Montgomery, 62MD, has provided $1 mil- lion to the University of Louisville to establish the Montgomery Endowed Professorship in Vascular Surgery. Montgomery is a 1962 graduate of the School of Medicine. He completed his residen- cies at University of Louisville Hospital before establishing a successful and long- standing practice in Paducah. "We have had several generations of family attend the School of Medicine and this ref ects our love for UofL and, specif cally, the medical school," Montgomery said. Generous recognition The UofL Conn Legacy Society held their annual reception last fall to recognize alumni and friends who have made a planned or estate gift to the university. More than 500 members make up the society, representing more than $230 million in planned giving.
