The nature of art
Art in an organic form is the focus
of UofL's latest faculty exhibit.
"Phytophilic," on display through
July 18 at UofL's Cressman Center
for Visual Arts, 100 E. Main St,
features pieces in unconventional
mediums from Hite Art Institute
professor Gabrielle Mayer and fellow
artist Gale Wisdom. Mayer's pieces
are Victorian hair art made from
human, horse and synthetic hair
entwined into f oral motifs, while
Wisdom's work is camera-less pho-
tography of weeds and plants. The
exhibit is free and open to the public.
