Homecoming 2014
Alumni networks continue the Cardinal legacy
Spread the good news — Homecoming
has been set for the weekend of
October 18, when the Cards will take
on N.C. State at Papa John's Cardinal
Stadium. The Alumni Awards cel-
ebration will take place on Thursday,
October 16. Staffers at the Alumni
Association are working with the
Student Activities Council to plan a
week full of events to celebrate
Cardinal spirit. Keep an eye on the
Louisville Alumni Weekly e-newsletter
and visit UofLalumni.org to stay up to
date on all event dates and details.
Our network of clubs in Kentucky helps
to keep the Cardinal spirit strong among
alumni who don't live close to campus.
The Frankfort/Capital Region Club and
the Lexington/Central Kentucky Club
held food drives as part of events they
were hosting this spring. Both clubs
donated items to local food banks
before hosting basketball game watch
events. "Incorporating service into our
events is a great way for us to give back
while having fun; it's the Cardinal way,"
said Jamil McGinnis, president of the
Lexington Alumni Club. The Frankfort
Alumni Club met at Miguel's, where they
had an increasing presence throughout
the season.

Club; and John Cubine, 74A, board member of the

The crowd watches as UofL's homecoming parade
heads down circa 1950s Broadway.
