COLLEGE OF BUSINESS Clarinet reunion concert honors former professor A reunion of clarinet alumni honored a former professor's legacy at the School of Music in March with the world premiere of four performance pieces. The "Clarinet Festival: 50 Years of Clarinet Tradition" saw 40 alumni musicians pay tribute to former professor James Livingston, particularly with "Trois Scenes pour JL," dedicated in his memory by composer Dan Welcher. Professor of Clarinet Dallas Tidwell, who retired in June, organized the festival. Tidwell, a former student and contemporary of Livingston's, joined former classmates to perform "Trois Scenes pour JL." "This was a tribute to Jim and the tradition he started," Tidwell said. "These former students are very special people to me." SCHOOL OF MUSIC A C R O S S C A M P U S THIS IS YOUR LEGACY.
