Earning Trust
John Codey, 66B, may have made his mark on the
business world as a preeminent New York City real
estate executive, but he hasn't stopped there. As a
trustee for the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley
Charitable Trust, Codey has directed almost $10
million to fund groundbreaking UofL cancer and
spinal cord research projects.
Codey said supporting UofL researchers and the
life-changing research they are undertaking fts
perfectly with the trust's core objectives.
"The faculty and staff of the University of Louisville
and its partners continue to advance the technology
and research base needed to treat more patients,
resulting in improved outcomes," Codey said.
The Helmsley Trust, worth a projected $6.5 billion,
has donated more than $625 million to fund medical
research since 2009.
